Philippe the Original opened its doors to Los Angelenos back in 1908 and is credited with inventing the French Dip Sandwich. Since the creation of the French Dip, Philippe's has served the classic dish along with popular sides including, potato salad, coleslaw, beef stew and chili. Still owned and operated by the same family since the 1920's, Philippe's celebrated their 110th Anniversary in 2018 - being the oldest continually operating restaurant in Los Angeles!

Wow. My first time was 10 years ago? Definitely needed an update! I now know how to order! Turkey with cheddar double dipped! I like my sandwiches a bit on the soggy side so this works for me...

Parking sucks. Pray for free parking. There's a lot across the joint. I think it's free. I didn't drive. Yes lines are very long. Get over it ! They have actual pay phones from back to in the day...
