Philip Pilosian Piano Studio

History

As a music educator I have taught in both public and private institutions in the Los Angeles area going back 30+ years teaching courses in Music Theory, History and Literature and Piano. In 1998 I started my private studio at the current location in South Pasadena and have been providing piano lessons for children and adults in the local area and surrounding communities.

Specialties

Studio offers private piano instruction to students of all ages and levels ranging from beginning to intermediate and advanced. A traditional classical approach is applied to mastering piano technique while simultaneously developing the ability to read music, interpret and understand music theory and navigate through a score of any genre. Fostering the love of music and sharing the joy which comes from learning a musical instrument is the primary objective of my studio. Instruction and guidance is provided with patience and respect to each individual who undertakes the journey of discovering the language of music. The instructor holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in the field of music and has been teaching in the community of South Pasadena since 1994. Several past students after graduating high school have gone on to either major/minor in music at the University level.
