History
Dr. Lena Nguyen was born and raised in Orange County, California, and graduated form UC Irvine in 2006. Her lifelong interest in science-and desire to help other people-led her to medical school at Western University in Pomona, California. There she discovered her passion for women's health and eventually specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. During medical school she participated in a volunteer mission to Vietnam. As a doctor of osteopathic medicine, she believes in a holistic approach to medicine that simultaneously attends to the mind, body, and soul-a practice she took with her to residency at Rutgers New Jersey from 2011 to 2015. through her training she developed an interest in minimally invasive surgery, family planning and high risk obstetrics. Dr. Nguyen joins The Women's Health Center after a few too many East Coast winters, and is happy to be back home in California. She enjoys hiking, bouldering, and recently took up photography to document her adventures.
