Cereske Electric Cable Co, was established in Oakland, California in 1947 by William H. Cereske. During World War II, he was in the Navy and was stationed at Treasure Island. After the war, he started a business that bought and sold Army/Navy surplus. He sold everything from light bulbs to work gloves to a little wire and cable. He started selling more wire and cable than anything else. Scott Johnson was Bill's office and sales manager. John Ridella was the warehouse manger. They both worked Cereske Electric for over 30 years. The company evolved into a "wire specialty" distributor. Today, Cereske Electric Cable only sells new product. Bill passed away suddenly in 1973. Bill's widow, Bette Jeanne, became president of Cereske Electric Cable. Fortunately, Scottyran the business like it was his own. Buffy Cereske was a senior in high school in 1973 when her father passed away. She went off to college at the University of Oregon to get her BS in Biology. After graduation, she came to work full time Cereske Electric. She then pursued her MBA in Finance at Golden Gate University. In 1987, Scott Johnson retired after working for the company for 35 years. Buffy Cereske became president and general manager. Now, her two sons, Spike and Max are working part-time. The firm is a certified small and woman-owned business employing seven people. We have one of the largest inventories of electrical wire and cable on the West Coast. We specialize in the hard to find items as well as the everyday ones. We are a small business. So we try harder to earn your respect and your business.
