The Providence Service Corporation provides and manages government sponsored social services and non-emergency transportation services. The company was formed in 1997, as a result of merger between two behavioral health care providers for children and families in Tucson, Ariz. It specializes in providing direct and case management services to children, adolescents and young adults with behavioral health needs. Virtual Residential Program of the company provides families, schools and communities with a community-based alternative to unnecessary out-of-home placements. The Providence Service Corporation serves over 70,000 clients from 318 locations in 36 states, which includes the District of Columbia, Victoria, British Columbia and Canada.
