Parks Department

The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation operates under the government of the Los Angeles County, Calif., which also operates accounting, fire, health, finance, human resources, information technology and library departments. The department offers a variety of recreational and leisure activities and programs. Its facilities include a golf club, arboretum, nature center, amphitheater and museum. It maintains several parks, streets, trails, open fields and beaches. The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation conducts art and craft, dance, swimming and computer classes. The department organizes fishing, horseback riding and boating activities. In addition, it maintains a park and recreation commission.
