Children & Family Services in Shasta County, Calif., provides services for families to achieve stable homes that promote well-being for children at risk of abuse or neglect. The department offers services for adoptions, adult probation supervision, court intervention, family maintenance and reunification, foster care, juvenile probation, independent living skills, mental health, permanent placement and domestic violence prevention. Children & Family Services has an integrated system of services that involves departments, such as social services, public health, probation, mental health, education, and drug and alcohol. The department also utilizes partnerships with a variety of local community-based organizations. Children & Family Services maintains its headquarters in Redding, Calif.

Since 1984 Youth & Family Programs has been providing a supportive, safe, and stable environment for foster families and foster children. We work with children age infant to 21 years old who have been detained by Butte and Shasta County. We also offer Transitional Housing and the Independent Living Program for our youth in extended foster care. Anyone who is safe, stable, adult, married, or single with room in their hearts and home for children in need can become a foster parent. You must be willing to be responsible for the care of a foster child, be willing to become a part of our team, and be able to meet the Community Care Licensing requirements.
