My wife and I, after many years decided to remodel our home. After doing many interviews and taking as many bids decided to start our projects with Elite. At the time we elected to only give a portion of the total project to the contractor to allow us to determine the capabilities and dedication that we expected. After Elite started we monitored not only the progress to see that it met time commitments we inspected daily the work to see that it met our expectations of quality. During this inspection we not once found any problem, but the owner of Elite, Mike Merrick found small improvements that he expected of his performance. Mike not only improved the work daily he took the time to explain why he would make the improvements. Mike would finish a portion of the work and then call for a walk through to make sure it met our satisfaction. My wife and I decided to give Mike the rest of the work we had planned. This work included the remodeling of two bathrooms, a kitchen and to have all the walls retextured and painted. We also were looking for someone to re-stucco the outside, replace all gutters and to remodel the back yard. Mike was given all the work. Elite does almost all of this work and for any that Mike did not due he subbed out. I am not an advocate of allowing subs in a project normally I would prefer to contract and oversee this work myself. We decided to give Elite the opportunity to show us how well he would oversee the sub contractors. Once again we were highly impressed with the dedication to quality that was demonstrated by Mike and the employees of Elite. Mike would be on hand and for all subbed out work and demanded of these subs the same quality he demanded of his own team. As I stated in the opening paragraph of this letter I do not normally recommend a contractor. But with the quality and dedication to customer satisfaction demonstrated by Elite construction I do not hesitate to highly recommend Elite Construction for any remodeling projects that you may need. Please ask Mike to show you the before and after pictures taken. I am writing to give tribute to Mike Merrick's abilities as a contractor and craftsman. Mike worked for me last year. in two capacities. First he built a deck for me with stairs. railing and bench out of redwood. He helped design the deck and worked in a timely way, making it very sturdy with extra cement supports beneath. He finished it off with lattice below the deck. It is an attractive and functional addition to my yard, which I have enjoyed very much. Having been quite pleased with his work, his next project for me was a total remodel of my kitchen. My house was built in 1928, with an average size kitchen and pantry room off the side, leading to the back yard - I wanted to enlarge the kitchen to include the space where the pantry was. Mike had to gut the kitchen down to the studs, remove a wall and replace that with a structural beam. The work included tearing out windows and a back door, installing new windows and sliding door; sheet rocking, plastering and painting the walls; installing lights in the ceiling and under cabinets, electrical outlets, garbage disposal, dishwasher and oven hood, venting through the ceiling; putting in all new cabinets and drawers, sink and counter ( which he designed to accommodate the installation of below counter shelves on one side ). The cabinets required extensive assembly and detail work which was done impeccably. Mike also sanded down wood flooring in preparation for refinishing. Exterior stucco repair was done over areas where windows and sliding door were installed. This latter project was quite extensive, but Mike made what could have been overwhelming, a pleasant experience. He met with me for as many times as I needed before the job began, to go over exactly what I wanted, how it could be done and the schedule.
