Operation Dignity

Established in 1993, Operation Dignity is a nonprofit organization that specializes in a variety of emergency and transitional resedentialservices to the homeless people. It supplies basic needs, such as hygiene kits, blankets, clothing and food items. The organization provides information on housing and emergency referrals. In addition, Operation Dignity offers services to break the cycle of substance abuse, illiteracy, violence, and physical and chronic illnesses. It also provides laundry, telephone and mail services to its guests. The organization provides a range of health care, educational, and training and development services to its guests. Located in Oakland, Calif., Operation Dignity conducts relapse prevention, anger management and computer assistance training sessions.
