History

Since 1998, we've offered the most comprehensive water, safety, and surf instruction in the Bay Area. Our classroom is right at Surfer's Beach off Highway 1; our backyard! Beach and water safety are our #1 priority. Gain respect for the Ocean while having fun and learning to ride waves! Join us for Rescue Wednesday, our signature game of Waterball, Surfing and Boogie Boarding galore, and so much more. The Coastside has always been our home. Come spend the Summer with us! Surfing Lessons: Open Ocean Surfing offers expert Surf Lessons for beginners to advanced skills. A short drive from San Francisco or San Mateo. Come for a day trip or spend the night at a bed & breakfast inn. You can even stay at the incredible Half Moon Bay State Park, camping right on the beach. U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner treated his daughter to a private surfing lesson! Surf Camps: We offer comprehensive water and surfing skills though a one week surf camp! Our classroom is right at Surfer's Beach along Highway One and the rock wall at Princeton Harbor. The same ocean swells that crash 40 or 50 feet tall at the famous Mavericks Point come rolling into Surfer's Beach in perfect sets! Parents can hang out on the beach and watch, or take off for rides up and down the beachfront trails. Bring your bikes or let us know so we can arrange Bicycle Rentals for pickup right at the surf camp.
