History

Oneva was started because we (Anita and Bob) couldn't find trustworthy sitters or a trustworthy service to provide sitters for their precious baby daughter eleven years ago. A sick kid meant one of the two of us had to cancel or reschedule meetings to stay home. A decade later, the problem remained unsolved in spite of myriad technological advances. We pooled our business skills (Anita's a Finance exec) and technical skills (Bob's a VP Engineering) to meet the needs of the mobile-oriented professionals as well as addresses the fundamental underlying issues of trust. We launched in June as SafetySitters and rebranded to Oneva in December 2014. Oneva has addressed the trust issue by starting with unimpeachable 3rd party certification from Trustline, adding mandatory CPR and First Aid, and setting and owning quality of service by recruiting and employing our caregivers as contractors. We currently offer concierge in-home care and driving in the San Francisco Bay Area
