Old River Elementary School

A California Distinguished School, Old River Elementary School provides academic instruction to more than 700 students in grades four and five. The school offers Title-I and special education programs. Its academic curriculum includes reading, writing, math, social studies, science and physical education. Old River Elementary School operates a library and media center that offers a collection of books, newspapers, magazines and reference materials to its students. In addition to a computer lab, the school has a cafeteria that provides meals. It also has a parent-teacher association that plans and coordinates learning programs, social activities and fundraising events. The school is governed by the Downey Unified School District.
