Oak Tree Academy

History

Oak Tree Academy was originally established in 1979 by Dr. Roseann Rinear in a small Los Angeles community after the birth of her first son. As a third grade teacher, Roseann had first hand knowledge of the importance of early childhood education for children in elementary school. With the needs of her own child in mind, Roseann wanted a clean, caring and child centered program for his childcare setting. Many things have changed since 1979 in the field of early childhood education, but the basic principles are still important for children and families: a clean, caring and child centered environment.

Specialties

Oak Tree Academy believes that each child is a unique and precious gift. We believe children learn best when their teachers are consistence and loving and the environment is caring, safe and inviting to explore. Children need freedom to make choices, explore, experiment and discover. The focus of our program is on building children's self-esteem, sense of worth and love for learning. Teachers and children are working towards school and literacy readiness. We believe parents are their child's first teacher and focus on building a strong relationship between the family and the school. Oak Tree Academy believes that children will learn and grow academically through exploring their environments, testing their theories and having their teachers understand where each child is in his or her development.
