The Food Literacy Center is dedicated to inspiring children, particularly those in low-income elementary schools, to embrace healthy eating habits through hands-on cooking, nutrition education, and gardening. Their mission aims to foster a healthier community and environment by equipping kids with the skills and knowledge to make informed food choices.
Through a range of programs, including after-school classes and community initiatives, the Center works to improve children's understanding of nutrition while promoting active lifestyles. By engaging local chefs and community members, they cultivate a supportive network that amplifies their impact on youth food literacy in Sacramento.
