From 1972 through early 1974, John D. O'Connor was the personal trial associate of Melvin M. Belli of Belli, Ashe & Choulos, a San Francisco trial firm. He was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of California from 1974 through 1980, and from 1981 through 2000, was a founding partner of Tarkington, O'Connor and O'Neill, where he successfully represented the FDIC, the FSLIC, RTC and NCUA in a variety of matters involving failed and failing financial institutions. From 2001 through June, 2006, O'Connor was a litigator with the San Francisco firm of Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin. Since July of 2006, O'Connor has been principal in O'Connor and Associates, a litigation boutique emphasizing O'Connor's trial skills. O'Connor and Associates provides a tailored approach to commercial and business litigation and offers expert witness and representation in attorney fee dispute matters.
