History

North Star is owned and operated by Simon Jakeman. Simon learned to sew as a parachute rigger for the FAA. After moving to San Diego in 1998 he learned to sail and quickly secured a job in the industry. In 2007 North Star Kite and Sail opened for business in Mission Valley. We are a small, independant sail loft with a reputation for fast friendly service and great prices.

Specialties

At North Star Kite and Sail we manufacture and repair all boat sails. We also make and repair all boat canvas including full custom boat covers. North Star is also San Diego's only kite repair loft for kite surfers.
