The Ventura County Assessor is a division of the government of Ventura County, Calif. The office is responsible for discovering, listing, classifying and valuing all real and personal property within the county. The department is also responsible for maintaining public records, including ownership and parcel maps. In addition, the department submits the abstracts to the state s government division that oversees property taxation and certifies values to taxing entities. The office provides a range of information and services to the community, including tax schedules and brochures. It also provides a variety of forms, including those relating to ownership changes, applications for reassessment due to calamities and declarations of securities interest.
