History
This all started for me when a dog named Bella escaped from a 4th of July party. She had been adopted through a rescue group we work closely with and when Bella got out, her adoptive mom turned to the rescue for help. Since I (Sarah, NDC owner) had a flexible schedule, I jumped in and quickly learned there are great strategies and systems that work--so long as you work them! Along with other volunteers, I implemented the recommended steps, added some of my own, and it worked! Bella had been missing for three days when I joined the effort. Once I jumped in, we recovered her in two days. That was the start of a love affair. Since then, I've guided local and national cases and found that I love it dearly. There are so many pets out there who don't have homes at all, so when a pet who DOES have a home goes missing, it seems like a double tragedy. These animals managed to find a family against all odds, and now they're on the streets (again). It just kills me...so I do whatever I
