Nevada County District Attorney

Established in 1969, Washoe County Public Defender's Office is a community based defender organization. Located in Reno, Nev., the firm represents indigent persons in criminal cases, juvenile proceedings, involuntary commitment hearings, parental termination petitions and parole hearings at the Nevada Department of Corrections. Additionally, the institution represents persons involved in juvenile and family drug court, to name a few. Washoe County Public Defender's Office also provides educational services to the community on various topics, including accessing mental health resources and helping juveniles deal with police encounters.

Placer County Jail is a part of the Placer County Sheriff s Department, which is governed by the County of Placer in California. Founded in 1985, the jail is a detention facility that houses more than 450 inmates. It cells are double-bunked. The Placer County Sheriff s Department is responsible for organizing, establishing, maintaining and promoting various coordinated crime prevention and community-related events. The department s crime analysis division assists operational and administrative personnel in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention and suppression of criminal activities. In addition, it provides assistance with the identification of specific crime problems and the arrest of criminal offenders.
