History

The Monterey History and Art Association was formed in 1931. The Monterey History and Maritime Museum began in 1970, and found a permanent home at The Stanton Center, 5 Custom House Plaza, in 1992. The Museum closed in 2010 for re-structuring. In 2011 Monterey History and Maritime Museum re-opened as the Museum of Monterey at The Stanton Center, 5 Custom House Plaza, Monterey CA 93940.
