Murphy Ranch, originally built by Norman and Winona Stevens in the 1930s, was designed as a self-sufficient retreat in Rustic Canyon, Pacific Palisades, California. The property, purchased from Jesse Murphy, became a sanctuary for the family amid their concerns about the potential chaos from World War II.
Over time, an urban legend emerged, inaccurately depicting the Stevens family as Nazi sympathizers and associating them with various fabricated stories involving spies and extremist groups. Ferd Stevens, a descendant, is committed to clarifying the true history of Murphy Ranch and dispelling the myths surrounding it through the publication of "The True Story of Murphy Ranch."
