Mt. Diablo Unified School District

Established in 1948, Mt. Diablo Unified School District operates more than 55 school sites and programs. It serves over 36,000 students in grades kindergarten through 12. It also has an enrollment of nearly 20,000 students in adult education centers. The district employs more than 2,000 certified teachers and covers an area of over 150 square miles, including the cities of Concord, Pleasant Hill, Clayton, Walnut Creek and Martinez in California. Mt. Diablo Unified School District consists of several departments, including administrative, curriculum, food, maintenance, special education, fiscal, and purchasing and warehouse. Its willow creek center is the professional development site that provides professional development and training facilities for students, teachers, employees, parents and community members. Located in Concord, Calif., the district also supports programs, such as career integrated academics, early childhood education and smaller learning communities.
