Mt Danaher Fire Station

Mt. Danaher is a fire station that is administered by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, which is operates by the government of the State of California. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, also known as Cal Fire, offers a range of emergency management and medical services. The department serves an area of more than 30 million acres. It responds to over 5,600 wild land fire incidents annually. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection answers nearly 350,000 emergency calls annually. The department conducts swiftwater and search rescue operations. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection responds to various situations, such as civil disturbances, train wrecks, floods, earthquakes and hazardous material spills.

The department's firefighters, fire engines and aircraft respond to an average of more than 5,600 wildland fires each year. It assisted in various disasters, including the Northern and Central California floods of 1997, 1998 and 2006; the 1991 Cantara train derailment and toxic spill; 1994 Northridge earthquake; and the 2003 Southern California Fire Siege. The department offers various services, including, investigating arson fires, licensing and inspecting fire protection systems, regulating the use of chemical flame retardants and evaluating building materials against fire safety standards. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has been operational for more than 100 years and is located in Camino, Calif.
