History

Founded in 1952, San Mateo Credit Union has grown over the years to keep pace with the evolving financial needs of our member-owners. Since we first opened our doors, each year has marked a growth in assets and an expansion of our member-owner base--currently more than $868 million and 82,000, respectively--which is a clear indication of SMCU's vibrant financial health and operational strength. We welcome any individual who lives, works, worships or attends school in San Mateo County, the City of Palo Alto and certain areas of San Francisco.
