Been there many times now with our kids, who love the model train, wooden toy trains, while adults enjoy the history and culture that can be learned from all the dedicated enthusiasts and volunteers.

The Monterey Salinas Valley Railroad Historical Society operates a museum dedicated to the preservation and modeling of Monterey County railroads from the mid-1900s. Located next to the Salinas Amtrak station, the museum features an interactive HO scale layout and diorama, providing educational experiences for visitors of all ages.
With a mission to enhance community knowledge of the railroad's impact in the Salinas Valley, the museum hosts a variety of events, including a monthly Open House and scavenger hunts. The society invites both newcomers and experienced model railroaders to join in their efforts to celebrate and preserve the region's rich railroad history.

What a beautiful, historic place to visit. All of the cats are kept so meticulously. And the miniatures are so entertaining and well planned. Thank you! My friends are still telling others about it.
