History

Mission City Swing was started in March 2014 to foster an inclusive and cohesive community of West Coast Swing dancers in San Francisco and to raise the quality of dancing throughout the Bay Area through instruction and social dancing. We aim to create a space where: - people of all ages, skill levels, and walks of life feel welcome and included - there is a supportive environment for getting better at West Coast Swing - a variety of music for West Coast Swing is provided - ego and selfishness are set aside for fun and community

Mission City Swing is San Francisco's only weekly West Coast Swing venue, offering classes and social dancing in a fun and friendly environment. Come learn a sexy, sophisticated, and smooth dance that's done to all kinds of music, from R&B and soul to pop and Top 40! Want to learn how to dance? The Fundamentals Class at 8:10pm introduces West Coast Swing basics and concepts, like lead/follow, footwork, body mechanics, and connection. By the end of the hour, we'll have you on your feet dancing! Stick around after class to practice, hang out, and dance to a mix of music. No partner or experience is required. Just show up and have fun! Never tried West Coast Swing before? Then come to the Fundamentals class and the dance for just $5! (Or get yourself a monthly pass for just $25 - that's a 50% discount!)
