Mha Site Office

The MHA Site Office, located in Crestwood Hills, Los Angeles, is a landmark of postwar cooperative housing, originally built as part of the Mutual Housing Association’s initiative. Designed by architects A. Quincy Jones and Whitney R. Smith, with structural engineering by Edgardo Continia, the office features a unique blend of concrete masonry and steel beams nestled within a wooded canyon.

With nine distinctive floor plans reflecting the bravado of the postwar period, the site represents a significant historical contribution, where only thirty of the original eighty designs remain today. Nineteen of these structures have been designated as cultural historic monuments by the City of Los Angeles, ensuring their preservation and recognition.
