Metropolitan Bank

History

Metropolitan Bank started in the heart of Oakland's Chinatown 37 years ago. Frank Kiang, the Founder of the Bank, started the bank as a way to serve and give back to the community. He realized when he moved to the United States from Taiwan that Chinese-American small business owners struggled to get loans from banks. His solution was to start his own bank with the help of his friends that shared the same mission: A commitment to serving the community.
