Based in Palmdale, Calif., Mesquite Elementary School serves more than 1,000 students in kindergarten through grade six. It organizes a range of extracurricular activities that include instrumental and choral music programs, field trips and outdoor camps. The school s health department informs students about various issues, such as contagious diseases, special health problems, medications, and child abuse and neglect. The department additionally conducts hearing and vision tests. The elementary school operates a library that stocks a collection of books, magazines and newspapers. Operated by the Palmdale School District, Mesquite Elementary School offers lessons in several subjects, including vocabulary, arithmetic, science, social studies and health education.
