History
Started by Whitey Ellsworth in 1958, and since moved to its current location in 1979. The Anglers Center caters to everything from Marlin fishing and big game, to bay bass and everything in between. Ellsworth sold the business to his store manager in 1992, Dean Plant. Mr. Plant continued to grow the business and took it online in 2003. In 2011 Anglers Center teamed up with Melton Tackle and now has access to a much larger inventory than ever before.

Always had good experiences with meltons tackle in Anaheim. Walked into the Newport location today (first time since they took over the location) at 4:55 PM and half the security gate was closed...

I would give zero stars if I could. Absolutely terrible customer service and you can't trust what they say over the phone. I was told I could exchange a rod that was never used with the tags still...
