About Melissa Levinson & The Shop Born and raised in Los Angeles, Melissa explored a great many interests before discovering her passion for design and antiques. Once a competition figure skater, with a Bacherlor's in Psychology, Melissa returned to Los Angeles after her college studies and began an apprenticeship in design. Discovering her talent for design, Melissa started making pillows from antique tapestries and finally branched out and started her own business. In the past ten years Melissa Levinson Antiques has grown from a boutique pillow design shop into an international antique and design business. Thankfully, the career path Melissa has chosen allows her to indulge her other interests as she travels all over the world to hunt for the perfect antiques. Her motto remains "I try to find something old, everyday, and I don't mind going to the ends of the earth to discover it."
