History

Kevin Will has been teaching in Los Angeles since May of 2006. He studied under Meisner master teacher Sandy Marshall for 6 years before being asked to take over her Monday night class. Out of that grew MeisnerLA. He has a Master's degree in Acting/Playwrighting from Illinois State University and has appeared in over 25 different TV series, a dozen films and over 60 different commercials since arriving in LA in 1999.

Specialties

We specialize in Meisner-based cold-reading classes by providing a sort of gymnasium where actors can workout and stay sharp through the use of the repetition exercise, one-on-one coaching and cold-reading classes. These Meisner-based classes are intended for the professional actor committed to success in their acting career. We start with the foundation of our work, the repetition exercise. Take a short break, then come back and do our scenes without any rehearsal. The class is designed to replicate audition as well as on-set conditions. We only work on the type of contemporary scenes for which you will be auditioning. Sitcoms, one-hour dramas, romantic comedies, etc. The material is tailored to what you want to work on and often written specifically for you. We discuss how to create your imaginary circumstances such that the stakes are high and both you and the audience are drawn in. Through the repetition exercise, your emotional instrument gets stretched out, and you become more affectable and open. The real you, the vulnerable, charismatic, funny and ruthlessly truthful you becomes revealed. In short, you become a unique commodity that producers want to hire!
