McFarland Ranch, located in Galt, CA, is a historic preservation project initiated by the Galt Area Historical Society in 1998. This living history ranch offers a unique experience for children, allowing them to dress in costume and immerse themselves in pioneer life on a farm from the turn of the twentieth century.

With over 1000 elementary school children visiting annually, McFarland Ranch provides meaningful learning activities and opportunities for children to engage in hands-on experiences, such as pumpkin picking and candle making. Supported by volunteers and seeking grants and foundations' assistance, this project aims to serve the youth of Northern California, particularly those in the Sacramento Valley.
