Masjidul Taqwa, established in 1950, is the oldest mosque on the West Coast and serves as a historical beacon for the Muslim community in San Diego, California. Initially founded as Temple #8 under the leadership of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, it later transitioned to follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad under Imam Warith Deen Muhammad.
The mosque emphasizes a modern, environmentally friendly approach while remaining committed to the teachings of the Qur'an and the legacy of its early leaders. A well maintained mid size masjid. I love most speakers that I v listened to during Friday Khutba. The lady that serves food is very friendly and goes out of her way to help out.

Stopped by during my trip to SD and attended the Juma (Friday) prayers. Great Imam and wonderful group of people here. Enjoyed the sermon as well. May Allah (God) bless this community.
