Maryknoll Shotokan Karate Club, founded in 1963 by Tsutomu Ohshima, is one of the oldest continuously operating karate dojos in the United States. Located in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, the club is dedicated to teaching traditional Shotokan karate, following the teachings of Master Gichin Funakoshi.
Under the guidance of Mr. Ohshima and senior black belts, Maryknoll Shotokan Karate Club continues to provide rigorous training that honors the legacy of its founder. The dojo has played a significant role in spreading karate throughout the U.S. and remains a vital part of the Shotokan Karate of America organization.
