Mariachi Alma de Mexico

History

Mariachi Alma de Mexico was started in 2004 by Director Angel Amezquita with the goal of upholding the finest Mariachi traditions while creating a new youthful and energetic group to bring Mariachi to the modern listener. Mariachi Alma de Mexico consists of nine unique members ranging from ages Fourteen to Twenty-Five. All members were hand picked from hundreds of musicians all over the bay area so that we can provide our customers with the best possible musicianship. We are different in that we allow both men and women to perform in our group at the same time giving us the best of both worlds and a truly unique sound. We perform in the traditional traje de charro. Currently we have two trumpet players, one vihuela, one guitarron, one guitar, and five violinists. All members of Mariachi Alma de Mexico sing.
