The Inglewood Police Department employs more than 200 sworn personnel and nearly 130 civilian support staff members. The department consists of multiple resources, such as specially trained canines, enforcement units, forensics, investigators, a bike team, public relations, fiscal services, recruitment, vice and narcotics. It investigates crimes against persons, homicide, robbery, assaults, forgery, automobile theft, real estate fraud and economic crimes. The Inglewood Police Department has a gang intelligence unit, motor section, traffic enforcement group and community affairs section. The department has operated since 1908. It is based in Inglewood, Calif.

The South Gate Police Department is the law enforcement agency for the city of South Gate, Calif. The patrol division has six teams who provide around the clock coverage and log more than 50,000 miles per month responding to calls, arrests, traffic collision investigations, traffic control and parking enforcement. The traffic bureau includes four motorcycle officers, two traffic cars, four full-time and five part-time parking enforcement officers. It investigates collisions and assists in accident reconstruction. The department has several community outreach programs, including a citizen patrol composed of residents who volunteer to assist in handling minor police duties and a reserve officer program and a community-oriented policing program. It has an Explorers Post designed to give youth an opportunity to interact with police and develop an understanding of law enforcement. The department also conducts a number of community education programs aimed at preventing drug abuse, family violence and increasing home safety for the elderly.
