HistoryAfter graduating from Stanford, I pursued a Masters in Education from USC and taught for LBUSD for 5 years. But, as I prepared to leave on maternity leave, I felt very disheartened by the lack of support for students and families, the non-existence of culturally relevant learning materials, very limited opportunities for creative active learning, and constant standardized testing, even for kindergarten. And, as my son grew, I began searching for quality Spanish Immersion programs and could not find anything that met my standards and was not overpriced. It was then that I joined the fight for universal early education with MomsRising and attended their first Early Education Conference in Washington DC and decided to establish my own early education learning and support center for bilingual families like mine.
