MacKinnon Dance Academy

Three years ago we moved from our Wagon Wheel facility to our new home at the Palm's Shopping Center in Oxnard, and since then we have also expanded. We now occupy 6500 square feet of space in which to train our dancers. My staff of dedicated professionals are completely devoted to instructing their students. They take the time to plan their classes, carefully select their music ( age appropriateness is a must at MacKinnon's ) and to bring their enthusiasm and knowledge into the classroom for each session. Students as young as three years-old begin their dance life at MacKinnon's, and many continue through high school and even college. Our curriculum includes classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Polynesian ( taught by Kealoha Rameriz ), and Scottish Highland Competitive Dancing. We are the only school in Ventura County that offers Scottish Dancing. Many of our students have gone on to pursue careers in dance or dance-related endeavors. Most take their dance training with them to support their excellence in other areas. Dance study produces individuals who also acquire additional attributes in life, for example: enhanced self-esteem, confidence, poise, teamwork and elevated social skills.
