The Lyc e Fran ais La P rouse is an academic institution that is a part of a network of more than 400 French schools worldwide and has three campuses in the United States, including one in San Francisco. It is an American private school with a French public school curriculum and offers education from preschool through grade 12 to French, American and students of other cultures. Founded by parents and teachers in 1967, it is accredited by the state of California and the French Ministry of Education. It provides an academically rigorous curriculum in a French and English environment, prepares students for the educational requirements of both France and the United States and provides a preparation for European and North American universities. Its courses in high school include advanced science, biology, economics and sociology, English, French, German or Spanish, Latin, math, physics and chemistry, U.S. history and world history and geography.
