History

My passion for hair began at a young age. As a young ballerina, I learned stage makeup from watching the older ballerinas backstage. In high school, before I knew there was such a thing as toner, I bleached all my friends to a very hot shade of baby duck yellow. I went on to pursue a BFA in Dance at the Ohio State University. After graduation I moved to San Francisco to dance with modern dance companies and to work as a personal fitness trainer. I applied and was accepted into a post baccalaureate pre-med program at Mills College in Oakland, CA. I realized my passion for hair and makeup was still alive and enrolled at Miss Marty's School of Cosmetology instead. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I have been in the hair industry for 14 years now and continue to love every minute of it.
