Founded in 1939, Santa Monica Seafood Company is a wholesale distributor of fish and seafood, which it provides to clients throughout Southern California. The company also sells its products via retail stores in Santa Monica and Costa Mesa, Calif. Santa Monica Seafood is headquartered in Rancho Dominguez, Calif. It is owned by the Cigliano family, which traces its roots in California to the end of the 19th century. The company's Rancho Dominguez, Calif., facility contains 60,000 square feet of space. The complex is completely temperature controlled. The 10,000 square-foot-receiving and shipping dock is maintained at 38 degrees Fahrenheit with the processing room at 40 degrees. Santa Monica Seafood Company's primary holding cooler is a constant 32 degrees (freezing) and the picking cooler is kept at 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
