History
Lost Monkey is a 16-track Pro Tools studio in Hayward serving artists and bands seeking a comfortable environment in which to produce broadcast-quality sounds. The studio is owned and operated by Bay Area drummer Mike Stevens, who drew upon his experiences working in the area's most venerable studios to open Lost Monkey in 2010. Equipped with Pro Tools LE with a variety of plugins along with a suite of great analog outboard gear, the sound quality of the one-room studio is maximized both for tracking live instruments and mixing, while retaining a comfortable feel. The studio features a live drum room (11'w x 19'l x 10' h) with vaulted ceiling and acoustic treatments to make the drums sound big and natural, and is augmented by a top-notch vocal channel outfitted with Neumann mics and a Universal Audio LA610 tube preamp.
