Los Cerritos YMCA, a member of the YMCA of Greater Long Beach, Calif., provides subsidized before and after-school day care for children from low-income households. It was founded in 1955 to serve the communities of Bellflower, Cerritos, Artesia and Paramount and is one of six branches that operate under the YMCA of GLB. Its programs include co-ed Y s Men Club, camping, licensed child care, senior programs, swimming lessons and teen clubs. It collaborates with The Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bellflower to provide an infant and toddler center at the church Holy Redeemer Church.
