Los Angeles Jewish Health

Established in 1912, the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging is a nonprofit organization that provides continuing residential-care facilities for the elderly. Located in Reseda, Calif., it offers independent-living accommodations, residential care, skilled nursing care, Alzheimer s disease and dementia care, and hospice to more than 1,000 men and women. The residential facility features amenities that include beauty salon, gift shop, library, bank, resident post office, and housekeeping and laundry service. It also has on-site medical clinics that provides X-ray and lab services, and dental and eye examination suites. Additionally, the organization has a transitional care unit that offers short-term, specialized, rehabilitative services for seniors recovering from surgery, stroke, and other illnesses and injuries. Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging offers supportive care services and hospice services that include providing education, physical, psychosocial, and spiritual comfort to the patient and family members.
