Los Angeles General Service Department

The Department of General Services, governed by the city of Los Angeles in California, manages facilities, equipment, supplies of the city. The department provides security, law enforcement and other support services to the other departments, elected officials and residents. Its asset management division undertakes real estate issues. The division also offers the detailed review and analysis of existing facilities and sites. The Department of General Services operates a building maintenance division that is responsible for the repair and maintenance of plumbing, heating, electrical and air conditioning systems, as well as of elevators, automotive hoists, carpentry and overhead cranes. The department also provides fleet, mail, parking, publishing and recycling services.
