Los Angeles County Dept of Public Health

The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services is one of the largest public health systems in the United States. It provides direct patient care and public health services for its 10 million county residents. The department operates more than five hospitals, one multiple service ambulatory care center and six comprehensive health centers. Public health, a division of the Department of Health Services, strives to protect health, prevent disease and promote the overall health and well-being of county residents. There are more than 35 separate programs within public health that include environmental health, infectious disease control, tobacco control and veterinary health. The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services is located in Pomona, Calif.
