Los Alpes Ice Cream Parlor

History

The shop Los Alpes opened in 1979 as the first paleteria in L.A. I became familiar with Los Alpes when my mom used to take the family there for paletas when we were little. People would stand in lines going out the door just to get a taste of these Mexican frozen treats. Going to this shop was one of the most fondest memories from my childhood. I remember being infatuated with these fresh, colorful, icy pops. In 2015, after going there for decades, the owner presented me an opportunity to carry on the legacy of Los Alpes. It was destiny. Now I share my love and passion. Making paletas is like an artform to me. I love combining flavors and crafting up with new ones, but what I enjoy the most, is seeing the customers reactions when they eat them, especially the children. For me its like going full circle, to give back what brought me so much joy in my childhood.
