Lori Sherer, MA, LMFT

History

I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor, with a cozy, private office centrally located in the Hillcrest/Banker's Hill neighborhood of San Diego. I work with men, women, and adolescents individually, as well as with couples and families. I have experience working with trauma, including the effects of PTSD, alcoholism and addiction, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and self-esteem issues. I also specialize in parenting challenges, military life, and women's issues. I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology, am certified in EMDR, and have specialized training in AIT, grief and loss, anger management, and domestic violence. I am also a certified Addictions Treatment Counselor through CAADE. I have been a mental health professional in a variety of settings working with different populations since 2007.
