Long Beach Search & Rescue, established in 1962, is an award-winning youth Explorer Post dedicated to training young adults in public safety and emergency response. As the oldest continuously operating youth Explorer Post in the nation, it provides valuable community service opportunities and has successfully trained over 1,220 young volunteers, many of whom have pursued careers in law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency services.

The organization specializes in Urban Search Rescue and is recognized by the State Office of Emergency Services as a Level II Medium and Level III Light rescue resource. With a commitment to community service, its members volunteer over 21,000 hours annually, assisting local police and fire departments during emergencies and community events.
